DAMATURU – As part of efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the children mostly affected by conflicts, Yobe State government and Save the Children have met to fine tune strategies for improvement.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni received Duncan Harvey, the Country Director of Save the Children in Damaturu, represented by the SSG Baba Malam Wali.

Save the Children” is a global organization that works to promote children’s rights and provide assistance to children in need around the world.

In Nigeria, Save the Children has programs focused on education, health, and emergency response, among other areas. They work with local communities, governments, and partners to support vulnerable children and their families.

Speaking at the meeting, Duncan Harvey, Country Director of Save the Children said that they have been in Yobe State since 2019 and have been supporting the children in education and nutrition, job protection as well as helping families affected by humanitarian crises and those displaced by the conflicts.

He added that they are meeting again to fine-tune strategies to improve the plights of the children in the area.

On his part, SSG Baba Malam Wali who represented Governor Mai Mala Buni said that the presence of the Save the Children has been beneficial and will sustain the partnership for the benefit of the people of the state.
